Why is SEO important?

You might’ve heard the search term SEO, formally known as search engine optimization, floating around. Here’s a brief explanation of what SEO is, and why you need it.

Search Engine Optimization is the process of using specific industry related trending keywords and having your website relate to them. Google crawls websites often, and they rank on Google in relation to what they think the searcher is looking for.

For example, if I’m in California and I’m looking for the best taco shop in the area, the first thing I will do is go to Google to search. I will most likely type into google “best taco shop near me” and Google will pick up my location and show me search results relative to my query.

Most of the time, I’m not scrolling past the first page. Typically, the search result page that comes to the top has a great SEO presence. Whether it’s paid, or organic, I’m still going to click on their website to see what they offer.

Ultimately, you want to rank above your competitors. SEO is very important in today’s digital world as most of the world uses the internet for suggestions, reviews. etc. By ranking high, you’re sending people to your website first.
